It's that time of year again. When all the deer come out of the hills, run around town and play chicken with cars. So I'm driving down the road in town when I see a deer perched in some dude's yard. It was standing in this "prancing reindeer" pose and was staring right at me. So, of course, I slow down and keep my eyes on it as I drive closer. That's when I realize, it's not moving. And because of its ridiculous pose, it's OBVIOUSLY a statue. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? So I start thinking, 'What kind of a person puts a stupid statue of a deer in their front yard facing the road in a ridiculous pose like that? That's crazy! It makes people slow down and be all cautious and careful and what-not thinking they're about to smoke a deer.'
Then it moved.
About Me
- Jessica Schatzle
- Hello! For many years I've been a writer "by any other name". But in this new season of life as a mom I've realized more and more the importance of real connection, community and being a voice of hope in this wild new world. So here I am, officially calling myself a writer, eagerly looking to engage with you as I write to bring hope along the journey. If you're a new mama, an overwhelmed mama, or just find yourself in any new and unfamiliar season of life, I hope you'll find yourself right at home here.
